The client is a businessman who shuffles from Bangalore to Badravathi on work. This apartment was to be a second home in Bangalore.
On entering the home, one walks into a passage cladded on one side with strips of mirror and veneer. The light fixtures throw warm light onto the veneers bringing out the beauty of its grains. Once in the living-dining space, one is met with a coolness that contrasts with the warmth of the entrance. A stark white sofa with royal blue cushions speak of luxury. The royal blue single sofa perfectly complements the white sofa. Richly veined marble is the perfect backdrop of elegance behind the sofa and the TV unit. A translucent, minimalist centre table and side table complete the layout of the living. Light coloured curtains with white sheers ensure that the space stays bright. The dining space continues the theme of white furniture through its white chairs and crockery unit. An interesting hanging light fixture above the dining adds character to the space. The honey comb patterned CNC frosted tinted mirror behind the crockery unit adds panache to the space. The grey texture-finished ceiling connects both the living and dining.
The guest bedroom is on the right side in the entrance passage. The colour theme here is neutral. The headboard panelling with stainless steel beading is striking and catches the eye, complemented by the two beautiful pendant lights on either side.
The second bedroom is positioned beyond the living-dining. Royal blue takes over the colour scheme of this bedroom and works like an accent against the neutral hues. Two interesting pendant lights on either side of the bed complete the composition. The geometric pattern livens up the head board. The wooden panelling adds warmth to the space whereas the mirrors on the wardrobe give an illusion of a larger bedroom.
The bed back of contrasting concrete and wood panelling in the master bedroom is striking to the eye, the deep red lounge chair acting as an accent. Floral patterns on the fabrics lend a certain softness to the space. The vertical mirror strips on the concrete finished TV unit back panel is an element of interest.
In spite of being a three bedroom apartment, we achieved a luxurious, spacious and airy feel through the use of materials, colours and accessories. The right balance of warmth and elegance has been achieved through materials, texture paint, upholstery and lighting. Interesting geometric patterns achieved through CNC glass frosting, wall cladding and head boards ensure, to instill a sense of intrigue in the users, keeping up the spirit in the home.
